In many ways, horses are similar to humans in that they are social, have defined roles within the herd, and they have distinct personalities and attitudes. Horses can be contrary, compliant, aggressive, timid and fun loving. They can be either uninterested or enthused about new learning experiences depending on how they perceive the challenge of the moment. Most importantly, they are totally reflective of their human companions.  

The size and power of a horse offers participants the opportunity to build confidence when dealing with workplace and everyday life challenges. The opportunities for metaphorical learning are endless. Horses mirror the body language and emotional state of the people around them and this makes them powerful messengers.
